Akitu: The Ritual

Ritual, renewal, and the quiet beauty of beginning again

Featured Products

The Poppy Bag
$375.00

The Poppy Bag draws from the red corn poppy - a flower that has grown across my homeland for thousands of years, returning each spring without fail. In ancient Mesopotamia, it was more than a wild bloom; it symbolized renewal, resilience, and the quiet persistence of life, itself.

Once called "Daughter of the Fields," this piece reinterprets that meaning into a modern form. Bold in silhouette yet refined in execution, it captures the tension between softness and strength - delicate in detail, yet unmistakable in presence.

Designed to be both wearable and expressive, the Poppy Bag moves effortlessly between day and evening, carrying not just your essentials, but a story rooted in place and time.

Measurments: ~9.5”Lx3.5”Wx7.5”H
Materials: Acrylic, TruFlat material, metal hardware, Swarovski crystal, metal chain strap with black microfiber leather woven throughout
Finish: Matte and frosted acrylic with layered detailing

The Temple Charging Dock
$150.00

The Temple Charging Dock draws from the form of ancient temples - places where power, order, and intention were brought into alignment. Rising in stepped layers, its silhouette reflects structure, ascent, and purpose. At its center sits the rod and ring - a symbol of authority and responsibility in ancient Mesopotamia.

During the Akitu festival, the king was stripped of that authority and only restored if his intentions were pure. This piece reflects that same balance - between holding power, and knowing when to set it down.

Designed to hold your device as it charges, it creates a place of pause within constant connection - where your phone rests, and you step away. Carved from 100% Eastern Red Cedar, each piece features unique grain and natural tonal variation, including subtle pale streaks.

Measuring approximately 4.5”Lx3.75”Wx8”H, it is compatible with standard MagSafe charging setups and designed for ease of use.

Materials: 100% Eastern Red Cedar, acrylic inlay, 15W (3A, 5V) MagSafe wireless charger
Finish: Tung oil finish

The Sun Disc Candle Holder
$45.00

The Sun Disc Candle Holder draws from the ancient symbol of Utu (Shamash) - the sun god who represented light not only as illumination, but as truth, justice, and divine witness. In early Mesopotamian thought, nothing existed outside of his sight; to be seen was to be known, and to be known was to be accountable.

This piece brings that idea into the present. A single flame rests at its center - quiet, steady, and intentional - transforming an everyday ritual into a moment of awareness. Whether lit at the start of your day or at its end, it serves as a subtle return to stillness, and to self. Carved from 100% Eastern Red Cedar, each piece features unique grain and natural tonal variation, including subtle pale streaks.

The amber glass holder sits recessed within the wood, allowing the flame to glow softly while remaining grounded in place. The wooden base measures approximately 5.5" in diameter and 0. 75" in height. The glass candle holder measures 2" in diameter and 1.3" in height, and sits approximately 1 /4" within the base.

Materials: 100% Eastern Red Cedar, amber glass
Finish: Tung oil finish
